Frequently Asked Questions
What is a Level 2 background check?
A fingerprint-based state and national screening run through FDLE and the FBI, required for many Florida jobs and licenses under Chapter 435.
What do I need to bring?
A valid government-issued photo ID and your ORI number (the agency code from the employer or licensing board requesting the screening).
How long does it take?
The LiveScan appointment itself takes about 10 minutes. FDLE results are typically returned to the requesting agency within 24 to 72 hours.
Who needs LiveScan fingerprinting?
Healthcare and AHCA workers, teachers and childcare staff, home health aides, insurance agents, real estate and mortgage licensees, contractors, security and CDL applicants, adoption and foster care applicants, and many more.
Do I need an appointment?
Walk-ins are welcome during business hours, but calling 813-590-0606 ahead keeps your wait short.
How much does Level 2 LiveScan fingerprinting cost?
The total is the state and FBI processing fee set by the requesting agency plus our rolling fee. Call 813-590-0606 with your ORI number and we will quote you the exact amount before you come in.
What is an ORI number and where do I find mine?
The ORI is the agency identifier that tells FDLE who should receive your results. Your employer, school, or licensing board provides it — it is usually on the fingerprinting instructions they sent you.
How long are my fingerprint results valid?
Florida results generally stay retained and valid for five years, but many agencies require a new screening after a gap in employment. Check the requirement with the agency requesting the check.
Do you fingerprint for AHCA, DCF, and Department of Health requirements?
Yes. We submit to FDLE for AHCA healthcare and home health, DCF childcare and foster care, Department of Health licensing, insurance and real estate licensing, education, and other Level 2 agencies.
What happens if my fingerprints are rejected or unreadable?
It happens occasionally with worn prints. We re-roll your prints and resubmit, and if FDLE still cannot read them the agency can process a name-based check instead.
